Amerigroup Maryland First to Launch Peer Supported Social Health Communities
Solana Beach, CA — January 7, 2013 — Viverae Health™ Solutions Inc., the leading behavior change company improving health outcomes and the cost of care management for patients, providers, payers and employers, has signed a services agreement with Amerigroup Corporation (NYSE: AGP), a publicly funded health insurance company managing Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and long-term care programs covering approximately 2.7 million members in 12 states, to market and implement the Viverae Health platform in its Maryland health plan.

The company’s Maryland subsidiary, Amerigroup Maryland, serving approximately 215,000 members, will launch the Viverae Health program in early 2013 as part of a one-year contract.
Viverae Health provides a private, secure, HIPAA-compliant online and mobile platform where members support each other emotionally and are motivated to attain meaningful behavioral change. The technology-enabled services offering utilizes gaming techniques coupled with the online influence of family, friends and peers with similar conditions to empower members to achieve specific health goals.
The program includes access to peer health coaches, community managers, expert discussions, and live online meetings and group chats where members can learn and interact with guest experts to drive positive behavior change.
Participating Amerigroup state health plan members can interact 24/7 with members in Viverae Health’s behavioral health communities. It is anticipated that the marketing agreement will expand over time to include participation in Viverae Health’s complete Social Solutioning® platform, which provides support and communities for a wide range of chronic behavioral and medical conditions including depression, diabetes, stress reduction, asthma, obesity and caregiver/family support.
